The planning of your wedding is one of life’s happiest occasions. We are pleased you are considering the Peru Community Church for your ceremony.
MEETING THE PASTOR Our pastor is Rev. Peggi Eller. The prospective bride and groom should meet with the pastor well in advance of the wedding. You should expect to meet with her at least twice before your wedding. This is the time to discuss marital topics and for the pastor to better know the bride and groom. Please know that all discussions are strictly confidential to the three of you. The pastor is a trained professional and you should feel at ease with her. You may contact the Pastor directly at PastorPeggi@gmail.com or by calling the church office to set up a time for an initial meeting.
MARRIAGE LICENSE Your Marriage License should be given to the Pastor at the Rehearsal who will retain it until it is signed.
ORGANIST/PIANIST Arrangements for a musician and other musicians or vocalists are the responsibility of the bride and groom. Our church musician can be asked to perform for your wedding. He plays both the organ and the piano.
REHEARSAL It is customary to have the wedding rehearsal on the evening of the wedding. The time of the rehearsal is arranged with the Pastor. Please assure that all members of the wedding party are aware and able to attend the rehearsal.
HAVING ANOTHER PASTOR It is important to understand that the use of the sanctuary of the church by another pastor is at the discretion of the appointed pastor. If you have a family pastor who is presently located in another parish and you would like him/her to perform the service, please contact the pastor of the Peru Community Church first and allow her to contact the other pastor and make arrangements.
PICTURES AND VIDEO CAMERAS Photographers can make or break the atmosphere of your wedding. Professional photographers can contact the pastor directly to see the Church Sanctuary and determine the best location for capturing your wedding in advance of the ceremony. If you are having an amateur photographer or video operator record your ceremony, they are required to attend the rehearsal to understand the limitations of movement before, during and after the ceremony.
FEES (Subject to change)
- Use of the Sanctuary is $200, paid 30 days in advance (Payable to Peru Community Church) - The Pastor’s professional fee is $300. (Payable to The Rev. Peggi Eller) - The musician fee(s) are negotiated between the applicable parties.
Please plan to take photographs immediately following the ceremony and to finish in a timely manner (generally 1 hour is sufficient).
As a courtesy for all involved, the rehearsal and the wedding will begin at the appointed time.
